Oops, odds and ends from the newswires

With less than 100 days remaining until the November election, we are inundated with the MSM’s non-stop political coverage, especially Obamamania.

So today let’s take a break and check some of the other stories from the wire that don’t have quite the implications of the heavy duty political stuff.

First, make sure if you are expecting male strippers at your party, that they don’t come dressed as cops…

Female Guests at German Birthday Party Mistake Cops For Strippers.

BERLIN —  Police say two officers who responded to complaints about a raucous weekend party in western Germany were mistaken for male strippers by the female guests.

Simmern police spokesman Bernd Hoffmann says neighbors called police around 12.45 a.m. Sunday to complain about noise from a birthday party in their building.

A round of applause from the apartment resident — who had just turned 30 — and her friends greeted two officers who went to investigate.

Hoffmann said Monday that “they thought the policemen were dressed like that because they were strippers. It took them a while to realize they were real police officers.”

Hoffmann says the women had not ordered strippers but thought someone had sent them as a birthday surprise.

The incident resulted in no arrests.

Yeah, but it did result in plenty of red faces.

Drunken Passengers Go on Rampage, Force Plane’s Emergency Landing

And you thought that crying baby on your flight was bad…

Two drunken British women went on a rampage on a charter plane, hitting one flight attendant with a bottle of vodka and trying to open a cabin door as the aircraft was cruising over Austria at 10,000 meters, police said Saturday.

The staff on the flight from Greece to England eventually forced the women back to their seats and the pilot made an emergency landing in Frankfurt on Thursday, police told The Associated Press, confirming a statement they had issued on Friday.

The identities of the women, aged 26 and 27, were not released, but police said the 26-year-old may be charged with attempted assault and interfering with air traffic.

Both women were released, police said.

The rampage occurred when a flight attendant denied the women alcohol because they were visibly intoxicated, police said. The 26-year-old took a swipe at a cabin attendant with a bottle of vodka, then attempted to open a cabin door.

“Apparently the 26-year-old wanted to catch some fresh air,” the statement said, in

an effort to make light of the altercation.

The two women were taken into custody by police at the Frankfurt airport and given a breathalyzer test. Both were legally intoxicated.

After an hour in Frankfurt, the flight continued on to Manchester, England.

Least surprising part of the story “Both were legally intoxicated”..no kidding!

And just so we don’t seem to appear we are picking on Europeans…

Florida Woman Attacked by Fox, Then Shot By Husband

MORRISTON, Fla. —  Authorities say a Levy County, Fla., man accidentally shot his wife while trying to hit a fox that attacked her.

The couple told deputies they spotted an animal in their yard Friday morning and went outside to see what it was.

The fox bit the woman on the left leg and wouldn’t let go, so she told her husband to get a gun.

The man fired a .22-caliber rifle seven times, killing the animal but also hitting his wife in the lower right leg.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The dead fox will be tested for rabies, but authorities say the results won’t be available until next week.

So it’s not enough that she was bitten by the fox and shot by her husband, she may still have rabies shots to look forward to. See it could always be worse!
